My husband had a knee replacement on Nov 5, 2012. He rehabbed the knee and was released from PT on December 28th.

His physical therapy included kneeling on the floor and crawling across the floor on his knees. On Jan 4, 2013, he knelt down on the floor in our home and the knee dislocated. He was in excruciating pain and underwent a closed reduction under sedation in the ER. On Jan 30, 2013, while sitting in a chair, he went to move his foot and the knee dislocated again.

Another closed reduction under sedation. This time he was admitted to the hospital for a revision.

This was the Stryker Triathlon knee system. It is my opinion this is a design defect and has resulted in a great deal of pain and anguish.

It is really bad to crawl on the floor with a knee implant. Why should one do this for rehabilitation ?

Extremely *** and disastrous advice by your FT.I am pretty sure this has damaged the knee, espescially so short after surgery. I guess the wound was not even totally cured/ healed. This is bad healthcare !

The Triathlon knee has shown to be one of the better knees available, including studies compared to all major competitors like Zimmer and Biomet. It does not differ much from its older brother, the scorpio knee.

Stryker has a great grack record of the knee. To my opinion it is the best knee available, although a bit expensive.

Hi had my striker knee installed in my right leg in 9/09/01 three years later a screw back out had to have my first revision 2004 now this happen again with the screw in may of this year of 2013. Having the leg open 3 times has left some weakness in my leg mussels not to mention all the rehab you have to go through I try to find a lawyer to handle my case not much luck so far it looks like striker has their *** protected some how.

I had the Stryker Triathlon knee system put in 10/15/12. Ever since then my knee has been giving out on me.

My 3rd opinion OS told me that my knee is loose and unstable and that the plastic component should have been thicker. She said she could replace the plastic component with a thicker one, but do I really want to have another knee surgery?

I would do it if their is no screw holding the plastic piece in place. Striker change their design a wile back and the new design snaps in place their fore their no screw to back out .

I would like to hear an update on your present situation with your Stryker Knee, I'm having trouble with both my knees left and right, loose and unstable with revision surgery scheduled on right knee. Knee pain after surgery from the start notated after each doctor visit.

Of course they are protected

Donna engelman at the fda did not even penalize Stryker for non reporting adverse event even though in my case they were required to by law

I do have all documentation
